Hi! I'm Ezra.

I am a PhD student in the Conservation Ecology Lab at the University of California - Santa Cruz. My research interests include biodiversity conservation, bird ecology, and sustainable economic development.

I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2020 with degrees in Environmental Conservation and Economics. In recent years my path has led me from the startup world leading cutting edge software implementations at large healthcare systems to tracking jaguars in the Brazilian pantanal, and many places in between. Today I am based in Santa Cruz, California where the redwood forest meets the rich waters of Monterey Bay.

I also love citizen science projects, and submit my sightings regularly. You can find me here on eBird and iNaturalist
